Bon Viviane

Chef Michael Hung might not be at the now shuttered Faith and Flower anymore, but fans (and Westsiders) can revel in the fact that he’s found a space to flourish in Viviane.

Viviane Restaurant

Nestled in the sixties-style Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills, Viviane serves Hung’s interpretation of Continental cuisine and promises menu changes both seasonally and locally – meaning you can expect changes almost weekly.

Guests can enjoy a full-service restaurant from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and an everyday brunch menu that matches the sensibility of the hotel and makes you feel like you’re always on vacation.
Here is a look at what you might expect during dinner.

Snacks & Sides

Enjoy a great array of starters that are meant to be enjoyed family-style like the Guacamole with Chips ($15) or a Vivianne Mezze Platter with hummus, labneh, crudite, and more ($22). During my visit, they were serving the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare with Pine Nut Crema, Pickled Onion, and Ciabatta Crostini.

Salads & Sandwiches

As with any hotel restaurant, the menu takes a more relaxed tone here to satisfy those that might have to do the grab and go. Sandwiches include a Vivianne Burger on a brioche bun ($23) and a grilled Chicken Sandwich with Applewood Bacon ($19).
On the Salad side, you’ll have standards like the Avalon Cobb and something with seasonal fruit like the Fuyu Persimmon and Corn Salad below or a Kale Citrus with purple ninja radish (such a cool name) and hearts of palm ($18).

Mains

If you have your eyes on something more substantial, choose a hearty main dish item since the price difference is hardly substantial. Choose from Fish Tacos ($22); a Grain Bowl with quinoa and market vegetables ($19); Cacio e Pepe on the pasta side with almost everything made in-house ($18); and a delicious Steak Frites with chimichurri ($28).
Below is the rich Ricotta Ravioli with Chanterelle Mushrooms, Roasted Corn, and Brown Butter.

Desserts

Choose between a Chocolate Truffle Cake ($10); a Key Lime Pie ($9); Fresh Baked Cookies ($8); or a Scoop of Ice-Cream ($5).
The ice cream and cookies and priced just right for a late-night snack to enjoy in your room 🙂

Cocktails

Skip the wine and focus on the mid-century themed cocktails instead. Favorites include the Jackie O made with vodka, strawberry, Aperol, and lemon ($17); and the White Manhattan with Asyla scotch, dry vermouth, and orange and grapefruit bitters ($20).

Baby-Friendly?

Overall Viviane is a great place to bring a baby to dinner. The atmosphere is loud enough to muffle any cries and dark enough to help them drift off to sleep. Unfortunately, the restroom does not have a changing table though.
