EatdrinkMIA

I recently took a trip to my hometown of Miami, Florida and it officially broke my blog hiatus!! I’m very happy to be back in business and eating again after a fantastic wedding dress fitting 🙂

As I visited Miami as a tourist I got to take advantage of some new restaurant discoveries that went beyond eating at my mom’s house!

Here are some of my favorites!

Gotham Steak House at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach.

I had the 3 course Miami Spice Menu…and also took bites from my family ordering a-la-carte J. While I enjoyed my Miami Spice Experience, I would rather have ordered the Skirt Steak “Churrasco”. The deeply marinated cut absolutely melts in your mouth with Caribbean flavors! Another recommendation-The onion rings! I never would have expected it, but it was the best onion ring of my life, and was practically the size of a steak. If you enjoy your vino—and who doesn’t—they offer a wine list that is so extensive that it comes on an IPAD! So make sure you pick your Beaujolais before the bread basket!

Cibo Wine Bar on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables

Coral Gables isn’t necessary known for it’s hipness factor, but a restaurant like Cibo is quickly changing  the landscape. The noise level is on the energetic level and the lighting is to die for! (Imagine a wine cellar with up-lighting)

The minute we sat down for dinner we were served a board with bread and olives, along with a tremendous amount of olive oil and vinegar. So… if you’re looking to save money, then your meal can end here, however I kept going!

We split a light plate of grilled vegetables for the table and as an entrée I had the ravioli. The portions are enormous, especially considering  that the cost of everything is in the mid-teens. I could only finish half my meal—since I was saving some space for dessert.

I can’t wait to see what’s next for Miami! LA just might have some competition…
