Old Favorites

A.O.C.

Definitely do this one with a friend because you will want one of each! Suzanne Goin’s A.O.C. is offering a 2-course $25 lunch special (weekdays only) that begins with a choice of Cheese & Charcuterie or the delectable Spanish Fried Chicken.

Connie & Ted’s (West Hollywood)

It’s hard not to love a $20 2-course lunch that also includes a beverage; and this year they’ve switched up the menu!

Begin with a Half Dozen Oysters (for an additional $10) before choosing between a House Smoked Fish “Salad” with a Calabrian chili vinaigrette or a Hook Burger with Aged Cheddar among others.  Next is a choice of Snickerdoodle Cookies or Ted’s Triple Play which is a fantastic mashup of devil’s food cake, cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie, and vanilla ice cream. Wash it all down with an Iced Tea, Lemonade, or Coffee and you’ve got yourself a light lunch 🙂

Jean-Georges Beverly Hills

Why pay $99 at dinner when you can enjoy a 30-course lunch at Jean-Georges Beverly Hills for just $35?

I recommend starting with the Ahi Tuna Tartare before enjoying a Roasted Jidori Chicken or a Faroe Island Salmon with Black Truffle Crumbs. For dessert, its hard to turn down a Warm Chocolate Cake with vanilla bean ice-cream.

Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa (all over the city!)

Experience an obscene amount of sushi for only $39 at one of the many Sugarfish locations around the city. Although their lunch special is quite tempting at $20, an extra $19 provides an extra 6 pieces of Sushi, 2 Hand Rolls, and an upgraded Sashimi starter.

Tallula’s (Santa Monica)

Enjoy a spin on the traditional Mexican dishes you’re used to at Tallula’s with a nod to the Burmese and Indian heritage of Executive Chef Saw Naing during Winter dineL.A. Highlights in the 4-course $39 dinner include “Samosa” Empanadas with potato masala and mint-tomatillo; and Scallops laced with a Morita chili oil, and served with purple Napa cabbage, coconut curry and fresh herbs.

Dinner begins as early as 5 p.m. which is great for both single night-owls and people with kids 🙂

New Additions

APL Restaurant (Hollywood)

While you COULD visit Adam Perry Lang’s famed steak restaurant during their $99 dinner, you could also eat lunch there 5 times for the same price

The no reservations APL BBQ takes place Tuesday to Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and offers a choice between Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Pork Ribs; sides like Baked Beans, Potato Salad, or Spicy Slaw; a Marcus Cookie for dessert, and even a drink option like Mexican Coke or Lemonade.

Lunch offers a great opportunity to try the chef’s meat mastery and then you can decide for yourself if it’s worth it to return for a wet aged Ribeye at dinner during their $99 5-course.

L’ Antica Pizzeria Da Michele

One of my favorite restaurants of 2019 is pulling out all the stops, with a 3-course $25 lunch and $39 lunch during Winter dineL.A. Both include their incredible Pizza, which is the oldest in Naples, but dinner offers a few more choices like a Grilled Branzino and a Bread Pudding at dessert.

My advice? Stick with lunch. It shows off the best of this Hollywood hot spot.

Ardor (West Hollywood)

Open exclusively for lunch, Ardor at the West Hollywood EDITION, is serving a 3-course for $35 and representing it’s vegetable centric side with multiple vegan options.

Appetizers include the Cleaver Octopus with heart of palm and Beet Petals with whipped feta and rosewater and entrée highlights like a Cauliflower Tandoor and a Prime Skirt Steak with king trumpet mushrooms and spinach. Dessert is a choice between a Lemon Meringue and a Vegan Chocolate Ganache

Citrin (Santa Monica)

Michelin starred Mélisse reopened at the end of 2019 with a brand new restaurant, Citrin, by it’s side. Chef Josiah Citrin’s upscale bistro will be offering a $99 5-course menu with menu highlights like a Stonington Maine Scallop with celeriac, coconut, and lime as a starter and a Spice-Crusted Sonoma Duck with pear, salsify, beet, walnut, and calvados as a main. The meal begins with a Japanese Hamachi and ends with a dessert of Chocolate, Yuzu, and Passion Fruit

It should also be noted that Mélisse will be participating as well in dineL.A. with a tasting menu for $236 dollars (regularly $295).
