This weekend I had the pleasure of enjoying a happy hour at Katsuya Glendale-located in the Americana Mall. Here are some reasons why dinner is so overrated.
- Happy Hour begins at 11:30! This means you can eat and drink at happy hour prices before it gets dark-and on a Saturday!
- The outside patio is lovely and this mall in Glendale might be the most pleasant place to shop in California. You can drink your five dollar cocktail while listening to Frank Sinatra and watching the fountains dance. Seriously you forget that you are in a shopping mall at all.
- It’s Katsuya goodness at San-Sai prices! I had 2 appetizers for $10 dollars and to be honest it’s probably the amount I should be consuming. I had a spicy tuna roll and their specialty, creamy rock shrimp. The spicy tuna roll was a standard 6 piece roll and the creamy rock shrimp was slightly smaller than an appetizer portion-but it’s really all I needed! My fiancé had something off the regular menu and got a full lunch for only 12 dollars!
It is my understanding that Katsuya Glendale is the only location which offers the weekend Happy Hour Menu, but it’s certainly worth the trip over the hill. You can spend the afternoon sipping hot sake for the same price you pay to park the car at Katsuya for dinner. Plus you can shop while your tipsy-which will only make clothes look better on you 🙂
