La Vecchia Cucina: Where old is new again

La Vecchia in Italian literally translates to the old, but for this East LA Resident La Vecchia Cucina on Main Street was nothing but new.

I instantly fell in love after my mouth was full of fresh garlic and warm bread only seconds after entering the dimly lit restaurant.

The wine list offerings by the glass are extensive and affordable, and when the waiter went out of his way to get me the last glass of Barolo, he became my new best friend.

I ordered the Farfalle La Vecchia for dinner and if this was my last dish on earth, I could die happy.

The Farfalle is tossed with sautéed baby lobster, asparagus, white alba mushrooms, and lives in a light white wine pomodoro sauce.

The Cucina truly lives by its motto that “Life is a combination of magic and pasta”.

Buon appetito!
