Where you will be on National Lobster Day 2017

Hot on the heels of Rosh Hashanah, Monday September 25th 2017 is National Lobster Day! All kidding aside other than Christmas there has never been another day I’m happier to be a gentile 🙂

Here is your LA District guide to this year’s crustacean cuisine.

Beverly Hills

Let’s start with something classic! Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills is serving up only the standards; such as the Twin Lobster Tails served with Asparagus and drawn butter ($59). If the price is slightly higher then you’d wish to spend on a Monday consider the Lobster Bisque with a sweet corn fritter instead ($18).

Brentwood

Brentwood’s favorite steakhouse Baltaire, presents diners with the opportunity to feel fancy while eating comfort food. The Lobster Grilled Cheese ($25) is careful crafted with white cheddar, tarragon aioli, and chunks of lobster on a toasted brioche, while the the signature Lobster Mac & Cheese is composed of housemade oversized pasta, three types of cheese (Parmigiano-Reggiano, white cheddar, and aged Monterey Jack), crunchy breadcrumbs, and of course fresh lobster ($25)

Downtown Los Angeles

Have breakfast all day at Le Petit Paris in Downtown Los Angeles and enjoy their Eggs Benedict with Hollandaise Sauce and Lobster served with a mixed green salad and roasted potatoes on the side ($29).

Glendale

Craving a Lobster Roll at a slightly lower price point? Consider Fish Time in Glendale for a Lobster Roll featuring Steamed Live Lobster marinated in original, creamy garlic, or spicy cajun sauce and served on a butter roll ($18).

Los Angeles

The always over the top Barton G. restaurant refuses to disappoint on National Lobster Day either. The Lobster Trap Truffle Mac N Cheese is a 5lb Maine Lobster that is dremeled and stuffed with truffle mac n cheese, oven baked, and then topped with freshly shaved black truffles. This dish must be pre-ordered at least two days in advance (so as you’re reading this…) to give the restaurant time to source the oversized lobster from Maine. Oh and did I mention it’s $195…

Santa Monica

Soak up the savory at Plan Check Santa Monica with a Lobster Pot Pie. Each bowl of heaven features curried lobster bisque, baby beets, green beans, corn, carrots, and potatoes.

Studio City

As part of their new Luxury Ramen series, JINYA Ramen Bar in Studio City will be serving their Lobster Me Happy Ramen ($18) for this special day. Expect a decadently rich pork broth with lobster sauce, shrimp & lobster wonton, crispy Brussels sprouts, green onion, seasoned egg, and thick noodles.

Sherman Oaks

The 61-year-old institution, Casa Vega, will be serving up several lobster inspired dishes to commemorate the holiday. My favorites include the Lobster Quesadilla made with lemon garlic lobster, Monterey jack cheese, guacamole and sour cream and the Lobster Guacamole ($14.95) made with Maine Lobster, avocado, onion, fresh lime juice, jalapeño, tomato, cilantro and served with flour tortilla chips.

West Hollywood

Expanding on their ever-popular Wednesday Lobster Night, Pearl’s Rooftop on the Sunset Strip will be offering a 2 lb lobster with succotash fries and brown butter ($32), lobster tail tacos ($19), and more for Lobster Fest on Monday. Best of all if you like it enough you can do it all over again in two days.

It’s hard to talk about lobster without immediately thinking of Executive Chef Michael Cimarusti and the Lobster Roll from Connie & Ted’s. Served with a side of fries or slaw it can be enjoyed either hot or cold ($29).
