The Whole Beast at Barlo

If you are visiting LA for the holidays-and heading to Venice Beach, then make sure you check out the Hotel Erwin and Barlo Kitchen and Cocktails.

Although I might not have ventured into this Boutique Hotel on my own, this little gem of a space features an outside space for Brunch and Cocktails, a restaurant that feels like it was plucked from the West Village, and the only area Hotel with a panorama view of the Westside.

Here is the best of Barlo—including the whole Beast!

Warning: Executive Chef Adam Steudle has created a menu that is not for the faint of heart. You will see whole heads and pickled feet…but you might surprise yourself at how much you like feeling like a Viking!

Barlo “deviled” eggs and K-Town Pig Wings –This was my first time having pig tail, but other than the mess I was pleasantly surprised!

Whole Beasts

Roasted Hog’s Head-This is a specialty of Barlo that requires 72 hours notice and at least 4 in your party. It was complemented nicely by a Thai chili sauce

Z’atar Goat Leg (not pictured)-Unfortunately this was my first time having goat leg, and the first time I discovered I do not like goat leg. It’s perfect for the person who’s looking for a lean alternative to pig tails though 🙂


LN2 Popcorn- caramel corn made with liquid nitrogen for a melt in your mouth science project!
