The Best WEEKEND Happy Hours in Los Angeles

The pandemic has done a number on the Happy Hour scene, but slowly, we’re seeing a return of restaurants drop by drop. Check out this updated list of the best Weekend Happy Hours in Los Angeles for 2024. Kid-friendly tidbits are included!

Central Los Angeles

The Godfrey Hotel (Hollywood)

The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood is home to the largest rooftop in Hollywood and is your spot for a superb sushi happy hour. The I|O Rooftop offers discounted pricing on premium Sakes, Beers, and specialty Sushi like the Torched Salmon Roll with Hamachi, cucumber, avocado, lemon, and serrano.

When to go: Happy Hour takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday to Thursday.

Culver City/Mid-City

Chicas Tacos

Only two Chicas Tacos locations offer Daily Happy Hour, so you’ll need to head to the Culver City or Beverly Grove locations. Luckily, those are also known for their awesome outdoor patios! Enjoy $6 Margaritas and Palomas and $4 Beers plus Plant-Based Queso DipGuacamole, and Chips and Salsa Flights for just $3.49.

When to go: Happy Hour takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. daily.

Downtown Los Angeles

Ace Hotel – LOAM

The Ace Hotel wants LOAM to be your home for the Golden Hour. The veggie-centric restaurant is serving up $10 Burgers and Specialty Cocktails as well as $8 House Wines and $6 Draft Beers. You can also enjoy a plate of Deviled Eggs for just $5 and Oysters for $1.50.

When to go: Golden Hour takes place Wednesday to Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Smoke City Char Bar

Smoke City Char Bar in the DTLA Arts District is probably one of the least BBQ-ish spots in the city. The inside feels like a nice, trendy restaurant versus a throw-peanuts-on-the-floor kind of joint; which makes it a nice place for drinks. They’ve got a great Bar Bites Menu with Buttery Brioche Sliders ($10) and Sundown Chili Nachos ($7), as well as a Happy Hour menu where nothing is over $10. Signature Happy Hour sips include a Spicy Punch made with vodka, and an Apple Smashie, made with whiskey, apples, and joy :).

When to go: Happy Hour takes place weeknights from 4 to 6 p.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 9 p.m. to close.

Good Clean Fun

Visit the Patio of Good Clean Fun for Toasty Time which runs for 3 hours! Menu specials include Housemade Spritzes in Grapefruit, Lemon, or Orange for just $5, a Jammin’ Out Baguette with ham and artisanal cheese and jam for just $8, and a Bucket O’ Cans for $20 (5 cans of Hard Setzer or Beer).

When to go: Toasty Time takes place Tuesday to Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m.

LA Cha Cha Cha

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles, so to find that they’ve added a Happy Hour for 2024 is beyond exciting news! Weekend Happy Hour will have you enjoying $10 Cocktail prices on some of their most popular drinks, like the Spicy Pineapple Margarita. You’ll also find an array of Wines by the Glass for $10 to $12. Most importantly, the food menu is stacked with great options. Enjoy a Guacamole for just $8, Tacos for $7, and the best salad you will ever have in your life – Ensalada de Jicama – for $13.

When to go: Weekend Happy Hour takes place from Noon to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

Le Grand

Le Grand from Chefs Alex and Chris Manos near Pershing Square offers both indoor and outdoor space for daily Happy Hour, and they’ve just slashed their menu pricing. Specialty Cocktails like the Hibiscus Margarita are $7, and Beers like Peroni are just $5. Food deals include Spanish Olives for $5, Pan con Tomate for $8 and many more.

When to go: Happy Hour takes place from 5 to 6 p.m. daily.

Seven Grand (DTLA)

Seven Grand is a whiskey bar restaurant known for having one of the most extensive collections of whiskey in the city (over 750 displayed). They’re located upstairs in the historic Brock & Co. Jewelry Building, and the vibe is dark and stormy. During Happy Hour, you can enjoy an array of $8 Cocktails like a Toki Highball or an Irish Mule – but my favorite is the Afternoon Manhattan. It’s slightly sweeter than what you are used to. There’s also Live Music Monday to Thursday beginning at 10 p.m. if you want to take your Afternoon Manhattan into the evening.

When to go: Happy Hour takes place daily from 3 to 8 p.m.

Seven Grand

Bar CDMX (DTLA)

Bar CDMX is located in the basement below Seven Grand in the same Brock & Co. Building, but it feels like a world away. The dim lighting and pumping Spanish rock make it impossible not to feel like you’ve been transported to Mexico City. The $7 Happy Hour cocktail menu includes a Margarita, Tequila Mule, and a Ron Old Fashioned that is the best in the city! Of course, there are Cervezas, too.

When to Go: Happy Hour is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 3 to 8 p.m. on all other days.

Bar CDMX

Bar Verde (Glendale)

Perched on the top floor of Nordstrom, Bar Verde offers an outdoor patio where you can enjoy BV Burgers ($8), Neapolitan Pizza ($6), and Cilantro Lime Tacos ($4). Spirits like Titos Vodka are $6, Wine is $5, and Beer is $4.

Pre-pandemic, the Americana at Brand was home to multiple daily happy hours. Looking forward to a return to that.

When to go: Happy runs daily from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The San Fernando (Glendale)

This cocktail bar on San Fernando Road in Glendale offers daily happy hour with extra long hours on the weekend when you’ll find Select Cocktails for $8 and Bites for $9. They specialize in classic cocktails and have a pretty decent food menu. Best of all, you can choose to sit in the bar area or the outdoor patio depending on the kind of atmosphere you’re looking for. They’ve also got live music on Tuesdays and Fridays, but not during Happy Hour. See their website for more details.

When to go: Happy Hour runs from 2 to 6 p.m. on the weekend and 4 to 7 p.m. during the week.

Morton’s (Burbank)

Morton’s is back with their Power Hour menu with specialty-priced Beer, Wine, and Cocktails. There’s also a new Bar Bites menu that is served all day.

When to go: Sunday to Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Although this doesn’t take place on Saturday nights, they have the rest of the weekend happy hour covered.

Otoño (Highland Park)

Otoño in Highland Park offers Siesta Hour at the bar and patio only. The stars of the show are the food deals, including $9 Pan con Tomate, $10 Bocadillo (sandwiches), and $8 Boquerones (white anchovies). Gin Cocktails are $14, while an Estrella Damm Lager is just $5.

When to go: Happy Hour runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Baby Bonus: If you’re looking to sit near the bar, there is a little nook at the front of the bar area where you can sit with your little one. There’s only one, though, so get there early! Otherwise, head to that post-pandemic patio.

Checker Hall (Highland Park)

Checker Hall in Highland Park is a combination performance space and delicious dining room, and the cocktails are on point. Best of all, Happy Hour offers $2 off ALL DRINKS, including Wine, Beer, and even Specialty Cocktails. You won’t be disappointed, and I recommend extending your night to include dinner.

When to Visit: Daily Happy Hour takes place from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mercado (Pasadena)

All the Mercado restaurant locations are known for their stellar dining room spaces, which often offer an outdoor patio as well. During Happy Hour enjoy Lela’s Ground Beef Tacos ($10) or Carnitas and Jicama Shrimp Tacos for just a little more. As for bebidas, Cervezas in Cans are $4, Wine is $7, and the Mercado Margarita is $8.

When to Visit: Each location has different hours for Happy Hour, so check the website before you go. Weekend Happy Hour in Pasadena takes place from 4 to 6 p.m.

Taco Social (Eagle Rock)

Taco Social is a brand new spot, as of September 26th, 2023, and it’s the taco machination of several Pasadena restauranteurs who wanted to “taste the world in a taco.” Flavors include Tikka Masala, Banh Mi, and KBBQ, among others.

It’s housed in a historic Eagle Rock garage and has a wonderful indoor/outdoor space on both the front and back of the restaurant.

Visit during Social Hour to get $2 off all Margaritas, Craft Cocktails, Draft Beers, and Wine, as well as $4 Breakfast Tacos and a $5 Nashville Hot Cod Featured Taco. That pricing makes even the most expensive cocktail only $10, with most around $8. Specialty Draft Beers are just $5 to $6, and Wine is $7.

When to Go: Social Hour takes place daily from 3 to 6 p.m.

Atwater Village/Los Feliz/Silverlake

Bigfoot Lodge (Atwater Village)

The Big Foot Lodge in Atwater Village is a fun, woodsy-themed bar that will make you want to break out your fuzzy boots in July. Classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned and Moscow Mule are just $8 during Happy Hour. Draft Beer is $6.

When to Go: Daily Happy Hour takes place from 5 to 8 p.m.

All Day Baby (Silverlake)

The name says it all: All Day Baby is home to a 3-hour happy hour. The menu is full of great food deals like $8 Cheeseburgers and Crispy Beef Barbacos Taco Plates, as well as your choice of Smoked Artichoke Dip or Whitefish Dip for $10.

All cocktails, like Dramas Michelada and the Mojito, are $11, but my personal favorite is a Beer and Shot for $10 – because why not stay a while and try and whole menu?

When to go: Happy Hour takes place from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday.

The Morrison (Atwater Village)

Although a little on the dive-ier side, The Morrison in Atwater Village offers a happy hour every day from 3 to 7 p.m. Drink highlights include Craft Beers for just $6 and classy Cocktails like the Bee’s Butt made with bourbon, honey syrup, and lemon for $8. Everything on the Happy Hour food menu is under $10, including a Smash Burger, Red Hot Morrison Wings, a crisp Blvd Salad with goat cheese, and 2 Churros with Ice Cream to finish it all off.

They also now have locations in Burbank and Huntington Beach.

When to go: Daily Happy Hour takes place from Noon to 6 p.m. except Sunday when its 2 to 6 p.m.

Baby Bonus: There is so much to look at in this place that you’re child won’t want to leave! And they also offer a kids’ menu, so they are more than welcome in this Scottish pub.

Koreatown

Escala (K Town)

Escala offers a Columbian Korean fusion you can’t find anywhere else in the city. Come for Kimchi Fried Rice Empanadas (2 for $6) and Yucca Fries ($5). Drinks include $7 Old Fashioned Cocktails, $6 Beer, and $4 Aguardiente shots – which is a South American brandy.

When to go: Daily from 4 to 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday to Thursday.

Expect dishes like Spanish Fried Chicken ($19), Marcona Almonds ($7), and Bacon-Wrapped Dates ($7) among many others. Happy Hour Wine, curated by Caroline Styne, is $12, and there are Specialty Cocktails for $15. This are the same offerings you’ll find on the regular menu, but at lower prices across the board.

Boa Steakhouse (Santa Monica)

There’s hardly a better place to relax by the ocean than Boa Steakhouse. During Happy Hour, they feature $12 Cocktails like their Lychee Martini or Tropical Margaritas, as well as $10 House Wine. The food options are enough to make a great meal if you choose – like a Wagyu Smash Burger ($16) and Cauliflower Tempura ($13).

When to Go: Visit from 5 to 6 p.m. on the weekends and 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekdays to take advantage of this pricing.

Citrin (Santa Monica)

Charcoal (Venice)

Charcoal Venice from Josiah Citrin is based in barbecue and steeped in surfer culture. Their Happy Hour is actually called Evening Glass Off, which is a reference to the dying offshore wind. Taking place every night from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., you can expect a $12 Charcoal Burger, $9 Cocktails, and $5 Beer.

BOA Steakhouse (Manhattan Beach)

Boa Steakhouse in Manhattan Village has got bites as low as $8, but the one you’ll really want is their Wagyu Smash Burger, which features two stacks of rosewood wagyu beef, American cheese, and that delectable “house” sauce for $16 – which is a fraction of the price of anything on the dinner menu.

Pair that with one of their $12 Cocktails, like an Espresso Martini, and you’ve got yourself a very upscale happy meal.
