Is a Pressed Membership Worth It?

I’m the kind of person that walks by a Pressed on my way to get cheeseburgers. I always take a peek at the rows of beautiful juices while walking briskly past, careful to avoid eye contact with the equally beautiful people working there. Pressed, formerly Pressed Juicery, has always felt like a place you go when you’ve committed to health and are ready to put your money where your hot new mouth is, but did you know one bottle it’s actually less than a Starbucks Oleto? In this article, I finally got enough courage to go through the glassy gates to find out: Is a Pressed Membership Worth it?

*This is NOT Sponsored by Pressed (but if you ever want to, shoot me an email :))

What is Pressed?

In case you aren’t aware, Pressed is a company that offers Cold-Pressed Juices, Wellness Shots, Plant-Based Foods, and even Freezes and Acai Bowls. They are Los Angeles born and bred and have locations all over the country, from California to Massachusetts.

They are very popular for Juice Cleanses, but you can get a juice for about anything you want to supplement in your life, from heart health to healthy liver function, to just plain boosting your vitamin C!

What Can I Expect from a Visit to Pressed?

Not all Pressed locations are created equal, as some don’t carry the freezes or plant-based goodies, but they all carry the juices. I visited the store at The Americana at Brand, so they actually are pretty decked out with all the fancy add-ons. The friendly staff is extremely knowledgeable about all the products, so visiting Pressed is almost like visiting a doctor who prescribes juices :).

After you tell them what you are looking for, you’ll get a rundown of what they think is good for you, and you get to sample the juices.

Personally, I went in to get advice on adding more vitamins and vegetables to my daily routine. I was given a nice variety 6-pack, including one that my kids would enjoy too.

What do the Pressed Numbers Mean?

You’ll see numbers after many of the most popular juice series like Roots 1, Citrus 2, and Greens 3.

You’re going to want to start with 1, right?

Actually, 1 is where you want to END, almost like you’ve worked your way up to the #1 spot. For example, Greens 3 and Greens 2 are more popular than Greens 1 because the higher numbers mean more fruits along with your veggies, so they are easier to drink. There is never any added sugar, though.

However, this does get a little different with the cleanses because it’s recommended you start with 1.

What are the Best Tasting Pressed Juices?

While this is all relative, anything with a 2 in it seems to be a happy place for me. Roots 2 is my overall favorite Pressed Juice, and it has butternut squash, carrot, beet, spinach, parsley, and ginger for that extra zest! The Roots series is excellent for heart and liver function.

Next, the Greens 2 with kale, spinach, cucumber, lemon, and apple juice is easy to drink and gets you those extra veggies you might be missing in your diet. Overall, Greens 2 and Greens 3 are very popular with most consumers.

Orange Turmeric with orange, apple aloe vera, turmeric, lemon, and black pepper gives you 120% of your daily vitamin C intake, and the pepper offers a nice kick from the usual OJ you’re used to, besides helping with absorption.

Kids will love the Strawberry Orange Mango Smoothie flavor that includes apple, orange, strawberry, mango, peaches, and elderberry for immunity. It has 610% of your Vitamin-C needs.

Also not to be missed are the Wellness Shots which are concentrated versions of the good stuff you’re after but in smaller packaging. The Beauty Shot boosts your skin with collagen, aloe vera, and antioxidants, while the Energy Shot packs over 200 mg of caffeine into a tiny bottle thanks to matcha and guarana powder. I can attest that it’s a jitter-free jolt.

Can I Handle a Pressed Juice Cleanse?

The cleanses from Pressed are pretty popular because there’s one for every level, even Half-Day Juice Fasts, if you want to dip your toe in the water. Cleanse Two is a favorite and offers 6 juices to be drunk throughout the day, every two hours, in place of food. You can eat the whole-food version of what you’re drinking, though, if you have to eat something (like an apple). Cleanse 2 includes: Greens 2, Citrus 2, Roots 2, Greens 3, Vanilla Almond Non-Dairy Milk, and Citrus 1.

These are meant to be one-day cleanses and not exceed three days and are designed to detoxify and reset your body.

We can all do something for at least one day, right?

How Does a Pressed Membership Work?

Now that you know everything about Pressed, it’s time to crunch some numbers. On average, a single juice costs $6.95 but just $5.50 for a VIP. Energy Shots are discounted from $3.75 to $3.25. A 6-pack of juices costs $30 and just $25 for VIPs! That’s less than $5 a drink, which is less than the cost of almost any Starbucks beverage right now – and the benefits of a sugary Starbucks burn off much faster than a vitamin-packed juice.

When you sign up for a Pressed Membership, you get back everything you pay for because the $10 spent is just a commitment to shop. You’re charged $10 a month, which goes into an account for you to use or lose.
