As a new mom I am firmly behind the day of making Mother’s Day EVERY DAY, but until I am given control of the national holiday calendar I will have to settle for just the one. Here are few ways to celebrate the maternal figures in your life, all endorsed by this first-timer 🙂
Relaxation with your Little One
Although this seems like an oxymoron to me, Jessica Biel doesn’t think so! Her restaurant Au Fudge will be hosting a special spa themed day for moms and kids to enjoy together. Tickets are $75 for the mamas, $40 for the kiddos, and include 1.5 hours of mini makeovers, petit pedicures, and more.
Mother’s Day to Go
Esters Wine Shop & Bar in Santa Monica is your one stop shop for all things moms and like myself they are celebrating their first Mother’s Day! Pick up a fully customizable Mother’s Day Gift Basket ($65-100) with your choice of chocolates, artisanal food items, and mini flower bunches created by local florist Krystal Chang.
Wined and Dined
Also available at Esters Wine Shop & Bar is their regular Sunday Wine Tasting from 3-5 p.m. on the outdoor patio. Best of all despite the holiday, the price is still $25 per person and guests are invited to enjoy a wine flight and snacks and then purchase their favorites with a 10% discount.
Baby Bonus: Kids are welcome to accompany parents participating in the tasting on the patio.
Beginning at 10 AM the wedding event company Cake and Punch will be onsite at Malibu Wines with bouquets and flower crowns for the queen in your life! Live music begins at noon and reservations are recommended if you want to have an area all to yourself. Otherwise go straight to the bar for Semler ($14) and Saddlerock ($12) flights.
Bring on the Brunches
Fig & Olive Melrose Place will be serving a 3-course brunch ($40) with menu highlights such as Petite Burrata & Asparagus to start and the ever popular Rosemary Lamb entree. Deserts are a choice of the Strawberry Vacherin or my favorite, the Chocolate Pot de Creme.
Patina in Downtown Los Angeles will be opened especially for mom from 11:30 AM-2:30 PM and is offering a 3-course menu ($59) with a plethora of dishes to choose from. Be sure to order a signature cocktail to receive an exclusive keepsake recipe from Chef Paul Lee.
Always a standout, Geoffrey’s in Malibu is serving a 3-course brunch ($77) with highlights such as Pan Seared Day Boat Scallops with Foie Gras Risotto alongside traditional brunch items like Eggs Benedict and Quiche Lorraine. The restaurant is also offering a 3-course dinner for the same price, but it’s hard to turn down this view during daylight hours.
Dinners for the Dame
If you’re not already at Geoffrey’s, then check out Lucques in West Hollywood. They will be serving what promises to be a very special Sunday supper ($45).
Champagne for Everyone!
Free champagne for more than just mom? Little Door in West Hollywood and The Palm Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles will be doling out the bubbly to moms and their adult friends! So grab any special woman in your life and toast to moms everywhere! Hey we all have one 🙂
