5 Best Egg Sandwiches in Los Angeles

Breakfast happens every day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make some new choices to keep it egg-citing. Here are the 5 Best Egg Sandwiches in Los Angeles that will keep your day cluckin‘ on. Note, I use the word sandwich loosely in this post as some are wrapped in a tortilla :).

5. Muffin Can Stop Us (Glendale, Studio City)

This little gem of a restaurant does nothing but English-muffin-based sandwiches, and they do it all day long, so you can have breakfast for dinner. Get the Americano Muffin with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, egg, and aioli for a real slice of sunshine ($8.50).

4. La Monarca Bakery (Various)

This item blew me away, and it wasn’t my expected choice. The Ranchero Egg and Sausage Biscuit is so delicious because the fresh biscuit is unlike any other on the market in the fast-casual realm. The combination of flavors of crispy bacon, sharp cheddar, and smoky chipotle with those eggs and Mexico City-style biscuit is just perfect, and it’s just $5.99.

3. Little Barn Coffee House (Glassell Park)

This one is for the vegans out there who want more than just one choice when it comes to a breakfast sammie. Little Barn Coffee House has an endless amount of plant-based proteins that can be stuffed in a croissant, biscuit, or burrito base. Their Steak and Egg Biscuit on the weekends features a housemade buttermilk biscuit with Just Egg, vegan steak and cheese, chives, arugula, and house made garlic aioli that is worth giving up meat for.

2. Dog Haus (Various)

Digital Creator Josh Elkin is known for pushing the boundaries of what a recipe can be, and that’s just what he’s done with the breakfast burrito at Dog Haus. The Bacon and Sausage Breakfast Chimichanga is crafted with the same hormone and antibiotic-free ingredients found at Dog Haus during lunch and dinner, like sausage, crispy bacon, and tater tots. It’s finished with miso ranch before being rolled up in a flour tortilla, then FRIED, and served with a side of maple sriracha sauce (the maple is a nod to Elkin’s Canadian roots). This breakfast is not for the faint of heart, but it’s worth showing some love and is big enough to split with a friend.

The cost is $14.49, and this bad-ass breakfast burrito is only available until June 3rd, 2025.

1. Egg Slut (Various)

Egg Slut has been slinging sammies for over a decade, and despite the popularity of similar concepts like Egg Tuck, I have some allegiance to the OG. If it’s your first time, then the Fairfax is the one to get. Made with cage-free soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, and sriracha mayo in a warm brioche bun – it will melt your heart too!

Honorable Mentions

Calabama (Hollywood)

Your breakfast in a bucket? Well, I’m not talking KFC. During the pandemic, Cara Haltiwanger switched from selling her Southern-style egg and avocado breakfast sandwiches at coffee shops to directly out of her window in Hollywood. The response was as hot as the sauce, and now she has a brick-and-mortar at 6751 Santa Monica Blvd.
