Los Angeles has consistently ranked as one of the healthiest cities in the nation, thanks to a sunny climate and a willingness to try anything new in the quest for everlasting life. Here are 7 Places to Feel Healthier in Los Angeles for 2025 that will have you loving the life you live even more.

Embrace The NOW

The NOW Massage Boutique is like Massage Envy took a trip to Miraval Resorts and came back transformed. Unlike Burke Williams Day Spa, where you have access to additional amenities, The NOW is all about the massage. Guests can choose between The NOW, The Healer, and The Stretch for 25 to 80 minutes, with a variety of $15 to $20 add-ons available, like Gliding Cupping or Fresh Eyes. The price point is below Burke Williams and above Massage Envy, and the entire experience radiates a chic Joshua Tree earthiness.

I was lucky enough to experience a 50-minute Healer Massage, and from the moment I entered the massage space, I felt I was in a temple under the ocean. The room is candlelit with warm tones, and you can hear the sound of waves throughout the process. Talking is discouraged, which makes for a much more relaxing experience overall. Membership is encouraged as it keeps the price point under $100 and ensures you treat yourself at least once a month. However, if you need a quick pick-me-up, they also have a 25-minute massage exclusively for non-members.

See and Be Seen at Heimat

Heimat in West Hollywood touts itself as the world’s first concept fitness club that combines gym, spa, and social life. Luckily, you don’t need to be a member to enjoy the rooftop restaurant, Mother Tongue, by Chef Michael Mina. Brunch features a live DJ and a $39 prix-fixe menu that’s organic, free-range, and fabulous.

Guests can also enjoy Social Hour, which includes $10 Cocktails, $5 Beer, and bites like a Mother Tongue Slider or a Tikka-Masala Skewer for just $5. Hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Stay Dry at The New Bar

The New Bar in Venice is one of the latest alcohol-free spaces to hit Los Angeles, but it’s so spirited that you’ll hardly notice the lack of spirits. Stop in for a tasting or enjoy your purchase on the outdoor patio.

Heat Things Up at Haute

Haute Infrared Sauna Studio in Montrose offers one of the more innovative ways to work up a sweat in this city. Your 60-minute session includes trampoline rebounding, followed by a private infrared sauna, and then halotherapy in their salt room. Their system is designed to improve the benefits that you might receive from halotherapy on its own.

Enjoy a Guilt-free Cheat at Junkyard Dog Bar & Grill

Junkyard Dog Bar & Grill is the only vegan sports bar in Los Angeles and offers a variety of comfort foods that you can feel a little better about indulging in. Stop in for Breakfast Burritos in the A.M. and enjoy Junkyard Nachos until midnight. There are also Salads and Gluten-free goodies if you’re really on a health kick.

Slough off some Skin at Wi Spa

This 24-hour Korean spa experience takes your massage and facial to the next level. Along with your treatment, you can enjoy delicious Korean Food, various Sauna Experiences, and even a room for just Napping. Clothing is optional (except in co-ed areas), so leave your modesty at the door of Wi Spa. You can pick it up again at the end to replace all the skin you’ve left behind if you choose to do a Full Body Scrub.

Tone up with a Trainer

After years of trying to do it all on your own, isn’t it time you enlisted the help of an expert? Sage Fitness has three studios and counting and is the #1 studio in the Glendale/Burbank area. Session times range from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your preference, and include the amenities you might expect in a spa, like towel service and bottled water. You’ll have such a luxurious time that you might forget you’re even working out.

Slow Down with Some Meditation

Meditation, or the practice of being still and mindful, involves no training or equipment, but sometimes it’s easier to experience tranquility with others. Transcendental Meditation, or TM, involves repeating a mantra and a few days of training, which can be done at a local TM center in Los Angeles. If you’re just looking for a drop-in dose of the quiet life, consider Meditation Classes at locations such as Metta Meditation in Glendale and Unplug in Hancock Park, which also has an app.

What I love about meditation in a group setting is that you make a commitment, both with “clock time,” as spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle says, and with fiscal responsibility that is sometimes necessary to spur dedication and ultimately lead to transformation.
