And Just Like That, You Have Free Banana Pudding
I’m afraid to admit the effect HBO’s Sex and the City probably had on my life. Debuting around the time I started high school, it became a weekly ritual to watch the show with my parents. Covering my eyes and ears every so often, of course. Come time to choose a college, and I only had eyes for New York and all the glamour that came with the idea of “making it in THE CITY” with a laptop in a shoebox-sized apartment full of expensive shoes. I was probably too young to watch the show, but it felt relatable. Now, decades later, I find myself relating once again to the characters in the spinoff And Just Like That. Thankfully, I’m still a few years behind Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte in age :). If any of this resonates with you, I have some big and delicious news to share that will have you grabbing your Manolos and heading to the nearest Magnolia Bakery on May 29th! There are also some juicy details on some brand new movie premieres and how you can help the Los Angeles Parks Foundation with your next piece of toast.
How to Score Free Banana Pudding at Magnolia Bakery
Pink frosted Magnolia Bakery cupcakes first made their TV debut during season 3 of Sex and the City circa 2000, and lines have remained wrapped around the Bleecker Street location ever since. It’s only fitting, then, that the season 3 premiere of And Just Like That gets its own sweet celebration, with a dessert that “takes the cake” from Magnolia Bakery.
Mark your calendar for May 29th, when you can visit any Magnolia Bakery location in New York City, Los Angeles, or Chicago (except the LaGuardia and Grand Central Stalls) and tell them you’re there for “Summer in the City.” That’s the code you need to redeem a FREE cup of Banana Pudding as long as you’re one of the first 100 guests.
If you’re reading this in Los Angeles, you’ll want to go to the West Hollywood location at 8389 W 3rd St, Los Angeles, CA 90048. Doors open at 9 a.m.

A very cool collaboration is happening in Los Angeles that brings together Sqirl in Virgil Village with the Los Angeles Parks Foundation. Known for their jams and toasts, Sqirl is offering a Navel Orange & Rose Petal Marmalade, sourced from the Franklin Orange Grove near Beverly Hills, for a limited time. ALL PROCEEDS from this project will help the LAPF, and if you watch the news for even a moment, you know this is a time when they need it the most.
The cost is $16, and you can purchase it here. And just like that, your breakfast will taste that much sweeter.
