Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s victory in the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It became an American tradition to celebrate all things Mexicano as far back as 1863, right here in Southern California. El Torito & Acapulco (Various)

These two restaurants under the Xperience Restaurant Group umbrella have been instrumental in the fast-casual Mexican restaurant movement. They are offering serious deals all weekend long for Cinco de Mayo.

Visit El Torito beginning Friday, May 1st, for 5 Days of Cinco! May 1st offers a Kids Eat Free Deal, while May 2nd has Dos Equis Specials and Giveaways. May 3rd is for Mariachi Brunch, and May 4th has $2.99 Margaritas all day long. As for Cinco de Mayo, it’s all about Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour Specials.

At Acapulco, you can expect the same Cinco Worthy Specials.

Sol Cocina (Playa Vista)

SOL Cocina in Playa Vista is celebrating starting May 1st with perks like Kids Eat Free (May 1st), $2 off Dos Equis Drafts and Bottles (May 2nd), and Taco Tuesday/All-Day Happy Hour on Cinco de Mayo. Slightly similar to the restaurants above, but I swear they are separate :).
