Burgers Never Say Die (Silverlake)
The motto here is always order two because once you’ve devoured this Smashburger, you’ll always want another. The menu is succinct: a choice between the Regular with cheese, ketchup, mustard, pickles, and onions and the Three Stack, which is much like the regular, except it’s got three stacks of meat.
Hours are 12 to 8 p.m. or 11 p.m. on weekends, and you can preorder over the phone (although they don’t love that…) or through Doordash.

Habit Burger & Grill (Various)
Habit Burger & Grill recently celebrated the recognition of a #1 spot on USA TODAY’s 10Best list for the second year in a row! The deal for National Cheeseburger Day is ever sweeter than last year.
Sign up for the CharClub and receive a free Charburger with purchase of a regular drink.

Islands Restaurants (Various)
Get a taste of Hawaii with a Big Wave Burger with Cheese AND Fries for only $10 on National Cheeseburger Day. Hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Rock & Reilly’s USC Village (Inglewood)
If the sound of caramelized red onions, briny pickles, and house made sauce sounds good, then $6 for a Single Deluxe Cheeseburger should be music to your ears. This is available all day – from 10:30 a.m. to close.

For the Win (Hollywood/Glendale/Whittier/Grand Central Market/and More!)
Quickly becoming one of my favorite burgers, this is the daytime concept from the beloved Hollywood bistro, Papilles. For the Win offers burgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries, and patty melts. For National Cheeseburger Day, I recommend the Cheeseburger made with a quarter-pound of smashed grass-fed beef, grilled onions, pickles, and cheese on a Martin’s potato bun ($9). I’d also like to note they keep their prices low and have for years.
For the Win is clearly “winning” because they have expanded to Echo Park and Beverly Hills. Hours vary by location, but all are open seven days a week. Confirm on their Instagram before you go.

Tender Greens (Various)
Tender Greens might not be the first place your mind goes for National Cheeseburger Day, but this seasonal chef-driven fast-casual spot wants to give you something FREE along with your sustainably sourced meat.
Stop by on September 18th, 2025, and enjoy a FREE BEVERAGE with the purchase of any burger.

Farmer Boys (Huntington Beach, El Segundo)

Veggie Grill (Various)
Don’t have a cow, man! Enjoy Veggie Grill instead for an in-store-only BOGO offer on their American ChzBurger!

Poppy + Rose (DTLA)
Known for serving daily brunch until 3 p.m., Poppy + Rose from Chefs Michael and Kwini Reed makes a seriously good burger and serves it in a gorgeous outdoor space in the downtown Los Angeles flower district. Consider National Cheeseburger Day your excuse to enjoy a Poppy Burger with a side of ambiance ($25).
Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. You can also order through their website.

Barney’s Beanery (West Hollywood, Burbank, Santa Monica, Westwood, and Pasadena)
If you’re looking for that extra cheddar, head to Barney’s Beanery for a Juicy Lucy Burger. Juicy Lucy Burgers have the cheese inside the patty and come in varieties like Spicy Jalapeño and Three Cheese.

McDonald’s (Various)
Visit the Golden Arches on September 18th and enjoy a Double Cheeseburger for just $.50 when you order through the app.
The Godfrey Hotel (Hollywood)
The Godfrey Hotel’s signature restaurant, About Last Knife’s (ALK), has crafted a special Hollywood Burger for National Cheeseburger Day. It’s made with a chuck-brisket blend, gruyere cheese, shallot jam, and farm-fresh lettuce and tomatoes on a brioche bun. No worries if you miss September 18th, because at ALK every Wednesday, there’s an adult’s happy-meal of sorts which pairs a Chef’s Crafted-Burger with a Frosty Beer of your choice for just $30.
Make your reservations on OpenTable.

The Win-dow (Venice/Silverlake/Hollywood/Long Beach/The Grove)
The restaurant American Beauty began as a take-out-only spot, then expanded to a full steakhouse in Venice, and has since returned to its roots with four locations of The Win-Dow. Despite the popularity, they still sell a Smashburger style Cheeseburger for less than $5 ($4.50). Hours vary by location but on National Cheeseburger Day you can start eating at 11 a.m. Online ordering is also available as well as Doordash.

Pie ‘N Burger (Pasadena)
It’s hard to write about Cheeseburgers without a nod to one from the old guard. Pie ‘N Burger has been doing it well since 1963 by keeping things simple. Options are a beef, turkey, or vegetarian patty with homemade Thousand Island dressing, pickles, lettuce, and tomato. The Cheese is 50 cents extra – but so worth it ($13).
Don’t forget to add a slice of pie and bring cash!
Doors open at 8 a.m. daily.

Burger King (Various)
Although not confirmed, it’s to be expected that Burger King will be offering a FREE Cheeseburger with any purchase made through the app.
Goldburger (Highland Park/Los Feliz)
Goldburger specializes in Smashburgers with a variety of different sauces and slaws. The classic Goldburger is a grass-fed two-patty with garlic-mustard aioli ($11), while the LA Special has pastrami and dijonaise slaw ($14). If you just want a taste of what Goldburger has to offer, try a Kids Cheeseburger, which is half the size and half the price with ketchup instead of special sauce ($6).
Hours vary by location.
In-N-Out Burger (multiple)

Wow, what a great guide! I had no idea the cheeseburger was invented in Pasadena. That’s a fun little piece of local history to have in my back pocket. It’s awesome that you put together a whole list of places to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day. It’s like you’re a a burger detective, finding all the best deals.
The “Burgers Never Say Die” motto is hilarious and a little dangerous. “Always order two” sounds like a challenge I’m willing to accept! And the deals from Habit Burger and Islands sound amazing. I’m all about a good bargain, and a free burger is the ultimate prize.
You’ve really covered all the bases here, from the classic smash burger to the more gourmet options. And the little tips, like checking Instagram for hours and signing up for loyalty programs, are super helpful. This post is a total win for anyone who loves a good cheeseburger. You’ve convinced me to get out there and celebrate!
