September 4th to September 10th

September 7th to the 10th is “Shakespeare in the Gardens,” with a performance of What You Will by the Ensemble Shakespeare Theater at Descanso Gardens from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Purchase here.

Beginning September 7th and running until October 15th, Beverly Hills celebrates Fall Fashion Week by dressing up some of its best dishes and cocktails at the poshest spots for the Beverly Hills’ Cuisine & Couture Series Personal favorites are happening at MR CHOW with an homage to Chanel with Pink Water Dumplings and the Highroller Cocktail. The cocktail is reminiscent of Chanel’s Chance Tendre Eau de Parfum, and you can satisfy your craving for high fashion for less money.

While you’re in the hills of Beverly, be sure to check out the show Eternal Bouquets by artist Rachel Berkowitz, happening at the Great Art Space on Santa Monica Blvd. They are open Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday, September 8th, is the Los Angeles Rum Festival in Downtown Los Angeles. The 21+ event promises Expert Panels and Pours, so you’re guaranteed to learn a lot about Rum, but you just might not remember it :). Tickets begin at $75.

Friday, September 8th, and every Friday in July, offers FREE Jazz on the plaza at LACMA beginning at 6 p.m. No reservation is needed, but arrive early to claim a seat or a spot for a picnic.

Also, on Friday, September 8th, Sitting in Bars with Cakes premieres on Prime. Why is this relevant to you? It’s because this film was shot in over 30 historic Los Angeles bars and hotspots, including Highland Park Bowl, Micelli’s, Frolic Room, and the list goes on. If you choose not to go out on Friday night, stay in with this film and a slice of cake.

Friday, September 8th to Sunday, September 10th, is the Fireworks Finale weekend with Maxwell at the Hollywood Bowl. Discounted tickets are available for just $20 on Sunday. Check the link here.

Saturday, September 9th, is the largest festival for dogs in North America: The Day of the Dog. The event takes place on Main Street in Santa Monica from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and is Fend. Expect DJs, Doggie Booths, and Puppy Adoptions if you’re looking for a furry friend to take home with you.

Saturday, September 9th, offers a chance to go to C.A.M.P., which stands for Community | Art | Music | Picnic, also in Santa Monica. The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Tongva Park and includes musical performances, craft-making, and more. The event is free, save for a few vendors like The Ice Guys. September 11th to September 17th

Wednesday, September 13th, is a FREE Soundbath at the Thompson Hollywood from the Healers Ranch. Classes begin at 7 pm., and are open to the public with this reservation link. Reserve early, as it fills fast!

Also, on Wednesday, September 13t, thereh is a Screening of A Small Light at the Milky Way Restaurant at 6 p.m. It includes a 3-course dinner and conversation with the showrunners /executive producers of the acclaimed NatGeo Limited Series. Limited tickets are available via Resy for $95 per guest, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles. It’s a re-telling of the real-life story behind Miep Gies, who helped to hide Anne Frank’s family.

Friday, September 15th, is the start of Hispanic Heritage Month. September 15th is the National Independence Day of many Latin American countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, among others, which is why it runs from September 15th until October 15th.

  • An event to consider is the 15th Annual Hola México Film Festival, presented by Toyota, taking place from September 29th to October 7th from Hollywood to downtown Los Angeles. Learn more here. Opening night on September 29th takes place at the Montalbán Theater.

Saturday, September 16th, is National Guacamole Day, which is less exciting than National Avocado Day because Chipotle doesn’t honor it :). Once again, stay tuned, though, as I’m sure many restaurants in Los Angeles will take advantage of an opportunity to promote their own freebies.

Saturday, September 16th, also features a Bartender Battle beginning at 6 p.m. at SALT Restaurant and Bar at Marina Del Rey Hotel. The tickets to this are just $45 and include a Duo of Hand-Crafted Cocktails from Five Hotels from the Pacific Hotel group (2 oz each), Food Pairings, and Ballots at the end.

Sunday, September 17th, is a Rosh Hashanah celebration at A.O.C. along with Chef Amelia Saltzman of The Seasonal Jewish Cookbook. The menu is priced at $85 per person for a 4-course meal, with the option to add a Wine Pairing or Cocktails. Reserve here beginning at 5 p.m.

Also happening September 17th is Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions, which is a FREE outdoor Latin House Concert and dance party for all ages from 3 to 8 p.m. in Downtown Los Angeles. September 18th to September 24th

Monday, September 18th, is National Cheeseburger Day, and it’s the perfect excuse to indulge. While I’m sure McDonald’s and Burger King will offer a nearly free meal deal, save your calories for something a little more special. Burgers Never Say Die and For the Win are still two of my favorites in the city.

Friday, September 22nd, is the return of The Los Angeles Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park. Tickets begin at $29.99 and run through October 31st. Get yours here.

Friday, September 22nd, is also the end-of-summer celebration at the first-ever After-Hours Event at Eataly in Century City. Tickets include access to Tasting Stations, Summer Cocktails, and Live Entertainment. Tickets begin at $95.

Friday, September 22nd, Saturday the 23rd, and Sunday the 24th are three nights of Night Market at Paramount Pictures Studios Backlot as part of L.A. Times Food Bowl. It features unlimited tastings from more than 120 of the hottest restaurants in Los Angeles. Tickets can be purchased here.

September 25th to September 30th

September 29th is the spooky return of the Nights Of The Jack Halloween Experience in Calabasas. Festivities include immersive scenes along a mile-long trail with games, selfie spots, and an adult “spookeasy.” Tickets begin at $29.99 for weeknights.

Also, September 29th is National Coffee Day, which promises a jittery end to your work week if you take advantage of all the FREE CUPS OF COFFEE coming your way. I always enjoy Krispy Kreme since they throw in a free doughnut too.

Need Ideas for the Kids? These are Happening All Month Long

It’s not too early to start feeling the fall feels at Willowbrook Farm in Oakglen, California. They are officially open for U-Press Apple Cider, Wine Tasting, and Berry Picking. Apple Picking arrives in October.

Afterschool Happy Hour is back at All’ Acqua in Glendale. This means Specialty Priced Drinks and Bites for kids and parents alike from 5 to 7 p.m. on weekdays. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like the perfect dinner to me!
