The L.A. County Fair (May 5th-29th)

The L.A. County Fair is back in Pomona with Rides, Concerts, and all things Carnival from May 5th to the 29th. As far as food goes, it’s the best spot to get anything you can dream of fried in dough for you (I always love a Fried Oreo). There are also great BBQ offerings.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Thursday to Sunday, and you can purchase tickets beginning at $15 on their website or $30 at the door (for adults).

Taste of Downtown Long Beach (May 10th-11th)

EPIC Entertainment’s production of Taste of Downtown takes over 1.38 square miles of prime real estate along 1st Street between Elm and Linden to serve you some of the tastiest bites around. Favorites include Buono’s Pizzeria, along with newcomers like Cave Prime Steak and Cena Vegan

Tickets are FREE with this link. You just pay for the food you want.

Eeeeeatscon (May 20th and 21st)

EEEEEATSCON, from The Infatuation, is designed to feel like a music festival instead of a food fest: “For people who want more from a food festival than just tasting-sized portions and cooking demonstrations.”

Speakers include Ali Wong, Rami, Youssef, and Tom Colicchio, and bites include Simón, Apotheke, Crudo E Nudo, and a special collaboration between Found Oyster and Shake Shack.

Tickets cost $30, but that’s just to enter! You have to purchase all the food after that point. Maybe this keeps you from wasteful overeating, but personally, that just makes me hungry!

The event takes place at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica from 12 to 6 p.m.

Street Food Cinema (May through the Summer)

Kicking off Saturday, May 13th, Street Food Cinema: The Autry Museum is back with music, food trucks, and of course, the movies.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the movie begins at 8:00 p.m. The event features live music, games, photo ops, vendors, and more. You can also bring your own outside food, and blankets are welcome. Golden Girls Night is up for May 13th, and it includes a screening of some of the best episodes plus a visit from The “Original” Golden Girls LIVE ON STAGE Cast. Food Trucks include District Burger and Jay Z’s Tacos, among others, and change with each screening. Other movies on deck include Don’t Worry Darling (5/18), Ghost World (5/27), and The Bird Cage for Pride Month (6/17).

Tickets range from $22 to $25, but you can get them for just $15 with this link.

Baby Bonus: Kids under 5 are free, AND the dogs are welcome at this one too.
