What is Feed?

Feed is a social shopping app and website that combines foodie users with small-batch producers. The company is originally from the Bay Area and has recently launched in Los Angeles with the same great products and philosophy.

While the app primarily offers Organic Produce, Meats, Cheeses, and Delicious Baked Goods, they also have a section for Health & Home and even an artisanal Gift Box selection, so it’s a one-stop shop for unique and personal items.

Users are encouraged to write honest reviews on the products purchased so you know before you buy that Peach if it will be juicy or not. You can follow Users who post dishes you like and Makers who are putting out all the great products. But that’s not all! Keep reading to find out my favorite feature.

How Does Feed Work?

Begin by downloading the Feed app on iOS or Android, or check out the website. There, you’ll be presented with lots of gorgeous food photos, categories, makers, and more.

If you don’t know where to start, I recommend the Sale and New categories, which are both at the top bar and in the middle of the page. The Smiley Icon on the bottom when using your mobile device is where you can see what other users are posting about and Shop their Posts as well.

Once you select an item, you can read the product description and also see how many Upvotes it has. That means app users have seen it or tried it and liked it! This is also the place where you can see Reviews by users, More from the Maker, and what other Feedsters like you shopped for.

Add items to your cart with the click of a button and choose a delivery date. Carts above $50 deliver FREE, and otherwise, it’s just $5.

My Favorite Feed Finds

I instantly gravitated to fresh farm items like Apricots from Frog Hollow Farms and the Mystery Produce Box, which is jammed packed with Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables for much less money. It also has a ton of Upvotes, so you know people are loving it!

Next, I wanted to try things I’d never seen before, like Croissant Pullman Bread from Firebrand Artisan Breads and a Whole Wheat Bucatini from Bayview Pasta — both delicious, of course.

I recognized the San Francisco brand Del Popolo and grabbed their frozen Margherita Pizza, also on sale! Currently, you have to order over $65 in Frozen items to get a special freezer box, but that’s not hard to do if you need to stock up on Red Meat like Top Sirloin from Five Dot Ranch.

I put some trust in my fellow feedsters and ordered a can of Sardines with Preserved Lemon from Fishwife Tinned Seafood, as it was the most upvoted item of the week, and it did not disappoint.

Lastly, I took a chance on something purely indulgent: Lucid Dreams & Meditation Tallow from Summer Solace Tallow. This balm is a nice addition to my daily meditation, and I enjoy supporting an organic, small-batch, local business. Side note: This product is less money on Feed than the company website, which is a sweet bonus.

The Best Things about Feed

Other than being able to add items to your cart based on a food photo, I love the way the app rewards you for posting. When you post a picture, you tag the items you purchased on the Feed app and write a description with hashtags. Then if someone Shops your Post based on that fab photo, you get a 10% credit back based on the item’s value! Can you imagine getting paid back for everything you shop for? It’s an incredible kickback that I hope will last forever.

The other fantastic feature from Feed is the box recycling program. I don’t know about you, but I HATE breaking down boxes and pouring out ice packs, etc., etc., not to mention the waste creation! The Feed app sends you a text following your order so you can arrange pick up of the entire box plus all the stuffing. It couldn’t be easier, and you don’t even need to be home for it.

Try this app by downloading the Feed app on iOS or Android. You’ll also be prompted toward a special freebie bonus – which changes often. Your next great foodie Feed find is just a click away!
