Where to eat based on your zodiac sign in Los Angeles

The question, “What’s your sign?” refers to what’s called your sun sign on the zodiac chart. It’s based on the sun’s placement in the sky the minute you were born as it relates to astrology. Whether or not you place emphasis on your cosmic blueprint, you might find your next favorite restaurant if you let the stars be your guide on where to eat based on your zodiac sign in Los Angeles.

This post was created based in part on the information found about The Zodiac Diet on Elite Daily.

Aries (Born March 21st–April 19th)

If you’re an Aries, you’re always fired up, and on the move, so you’ll want to be eating food that is as fast as you are. I’m not talking McDonald’s, though. So let’s focus on fast-casual but nutritious restaurants instead. Yalla Mediterranean in Burbank prepares their protein, grain, and vegetable combos faster than you can say, “Yalla!.” You can also uplevel your sandwiches and salads game with something from Mendocino Farms across the street from The Grove that will make you feel as good as it looks in no time.

Taurus (April 20th–May 20th)

Taurus, the sign of the bull, is about slow movements and taking your time with things as well as indulging all the senses. Favorite foods include rich cheeses and good fats. A decadent tasting menu, like what you find at Maude, is exactly what settles a bull in a china shop. But if you’re short on time and still want to satisfy, head to Petit Trois Valley in Sherman Oaks for a super-rich Big Mec and the restaurant’s French sensibility of slowing down.

Gemini (May 21st–June 21st)

Gemini is the sign of twins with a duality balanced by a healthy social life and enough downtime. The best food to eat based on your zodiac sign if you’re a Gemini is beautiful finger foods that let you spend time paying attention to friends without sacrificing your own self. The Spanish-inspired Otoño in Highland Park with its menu of Tapas (small bites) and large GinTonics is just what the Gemini needs.

Cancer (June 22nd–July 22nd)

Cancers are one of the more sensitive members of the zodiac, so you’ll want to be eating food that is also sensitive to the stomach. That means focusing on comforting warm foods like Grain Bowls, although Lobster is also mentioned as well. Head to Bonjuk in Koreatown for a Rice Porridge filled with veggies, meat, or fish in as many combinations as there are grains of rice in the bowl. As far as that perfect Lobster goes, head to The Lobster at the start of the Santa Monica pier or Connie & Ted’s in West Hollywood for that crabby craving.

Leo (July 23rd–August 22nd)

A Leo is all about feeding their self-esteem in the way that a regal lion might be accustomed to. That means a diet rich in healthy ingredients that fuel the body but without sacrificing taste. You’ll want to focus on farm-to-table cuisine that is served in a gorgeous environment. That means a brunch or dinner at Republique in Hancock Park for a Mary’s Organic Chicken or some Charcoal Grilled Farmers Market Vegetables.

Virgo (August 23rd–September 22nd)

Virgos are all about organization and maintenance. Go-to foods include quality produce and some good chocolate when indulging, according to Elite Daily. So make your favorite Virgo happy with some Vegan dining from The Butcher’s Daughter in Venice, where a Wellness Latte with raw cacao powder will keep them right on schedule.

Libra (September 23rd–October 23rd)

Libras are all about balance, focusing on trying to keep things in moderation, which could prove to be a problem. A focus on lean proteins over beef is also recommended. So if you don’t want to tip the scales, you’ll want to be eating Mediterranean cuisine and a more pescatarian diet. Rappahannock Oyster Bar at ROW DTLA always has fresh oysters flown in from the East Coast. For some light Mediterranean, you’ll want to head to Momed in Atwater Village.

For seafood in moderation, order Sushi from Sugarfish, where the Trust Me menu serves just what the chef recommends in a portion you should be eating.

Scorpio (October 24th–November 21st)

A Scorpio wants what they want when they want it, focusing on foods rich in flavor. To satisfy a Scorpio and not get stung, head to the type of restaurant where the customer is always right and the meat is always perfect. The Palm Restaurant and The Grill on the Alley are old-school steak establishments in Beverly Hills known for their service that keeps the same people coming back for decades.

Sagittarius (November 22–December 21)

A Sagittarius person is almost as extroverted as Gemini, focusing on trying new things and making sure those things are as organic as possible. So for daring food made with carefully chosen ingredients, you’ll want to enjoy Vespertine by Chef Jordan Kahn, who since the pandemic has pivoted into to-go orders that make his tasting menu experiences much more attainable for the everyman (or woman).

Capricorn (December 22nd–January 19th)

Capricorns live and die by their routine, so you’ll want to eat somewhere with a simple, repeatable menu that never disappoints. Begin with a Martini at Musso & Frank Grill in Hollywood that has been making them the same way for over 100 years! Next, head over to Pizzeria Mozza for a reliable pizza that hasn’t changed its menu since 2007.

Aquarius (January 20th–February 18th)

An Aquarian likes to control what goes on their plate, and they have a penchant for colorful fruits and vegetables. You’ll want to take this more finicky eater to a place where they can make all the choices themselves. While the days of the all-you-can-pick-out-yourself buffets are over following the pandemic, you can still find spots where you can curate your own dish. The restaurant Lemonade in Pasadena will let you create your own combination of foods and ingredients down to the last beet. They specialize in Bowls and Salads. You also can’t go wrong at any Poke Bar that relies on customer creations.

Pisces (February 19th–March 20th)

The last sign of the zodiac is Pisces, the fish, which ironically is a fan of beautiful fish. They love a gorgeous presentation and won’t shy away from spice. The best place to please your Pieces will be at an Omakase-style sushi restaurant like Q Restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles, where you’ll be served individual pieces of Sushi in a church-like environment. Short on time? A Pisces will also appreciate a Superfood Bowl from Sweetfin with yellowfin tuna, avocado, seaweed, and gochujang sauce.
