Where to Get Food at Odd Hours in LA

Angelenos are curious people. Many of us work odd jobs to live life in pursuit of art above all else. Here’s where to get food at odd hours in LA to match your bohemian lifestyle choices. Your big break just might happen over breakfast at 3 a.m.

Thai Food at 8 a.m.

One of the best Thai restaurants in Los Angeles also happens to open at 8 a.m. Saap Coffee Shop in Hollywood will have you slurping up Jade Noodles and Beef Boat Noodles before your morning Starbucks. While they have a simple online ordering system, it’s best to call to ensure they make it in the early hours.

Pizza at 8:30 a.m.

Lodge Bread Company in Culver City has started making pizza, and the recipe is “full proof.” Full Proof Pizza is described as New York style, and the crust has a taste that feels just a little more healthy than the other pies out there. Online ordering is easy, and favorites include a Classic Margherita and Burrata and Zucchini.

Bottomless Mimosas at 9 a.m.

You’re probably thinking, “Bottomless Mimosas at a weekend brunch? Not a big thing.” But what if you’re jonesing for a bubbly right out of bed, and it’s Tuesday! That’s when you need to head to Eat This Cafe in Hollywood. They serve Bottomless Mimosas EVERY DAY starting at 9 a.m. for $20. Just be sure to grab an L.A. Burrito or something else to fill your stomach – or you might bottom out.

Chicken and Waffles at Midnight

While there’s many a 24-hour diner in Los Angeles, if you’re looking for a superior Chicken and crispy thin Waffle, then there’s only one Roscoe’s. Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles is open most weekend nights until 12 a.m. depending on the location. Stop in for a signature Scoe’s where two waffles are paired with a 1/4 fried chicken for perfection.

Tofu Soup at 1 a.m.

BCD Tofu House is famous for Korean dishes like Soon Tofu Soup, Galbi Beef Short Ribs, and Bibimbap. The original location in Koreatown is open 24 hours a day for both dine-in and take-out.

Doughnuts at 2 a.m.

It’s almost a requirement that doughnuts be available anytime of day, so you don’t have to look far to find a 24-hour doughnut shop to fill the food at odd hours in LA requirement. Classics like California Donuts, DK Donuts and Bakery, and Randy’s Donuts never close. Personally though I’ve always been a fan of Krispy Kreme. They are also the only place that spells doughnuts like the dictionary :).
