Where to Stay in Los Angeles for the FIFA World Cup

The 2026 FIFA World Cup Los Angeles will take over the city from June 12th to July 10th, with eight matches taking place at the rebranded Los Angeles Stadium, usually known as SoFi Stadium. Even if you’re local, there’s a good chance you’d like to avoid living in your car this summer, as traffic is predicted to be even more epic than what we’re used to. Here’s where to stay in Los Angeles for the FIFA World Cup that is worth your vacation dollars.

Where is the Los Angeles Stadium located?

The Los Angeles Stadium (aka SoFi Stadium) is located in Inglewood, California. It’s one of the most gorgeous stadiums in the country, with the feeling that there’s no bad seat in the house. SoFi Stadium is just 16 minutes by car from LAX and 43 minutes by mass transit. Alternatively, it’s 24 minutes from DTLA by car and over an hour by public transportation.

How to get to the Los Angeles Stadium for the FIFA World Cup?

Los Angeles is a car city, folks, so Car Rentals and Uber are often prefered. If, however, you do choose to use the newly reordered public transportation system, the list below includes the stations that will offer the most direct access, according to Secret Los Angeles. This will save you hundreds of dollars on parking and perhaps an hour or two in the car.

  • Crenshaw Station.
  • Downtown Long Beach.
  • El Camino College.
  • Harbor Gateway Transit Center.
  • Hawthorne/Lennox Station.
  • L.A. Union Station.
  • LAX/Metro Transit Center Station.
  • North Hollywood Station.
  • Pierce College.

Upon first glance at this list, I can tell you, there are a few stations you’d want to stay next to. Downtown Long Beach and LAX/Metro Transit Center Station are the only ones I would even begin to entertain, but Long Beach will take you…longer :). Direct Express Buses will be available from the LAX/Metro Transit Center and Downtown Long Beach for just $1.75, starting four hours before matches and running until 90 minutes after.

The Closest Hotels to the Los Angeles Stadium

The Anthem Los Angeles Stadium District, Tapestry by Hilton

If you’re flying in and out just for the matches, then you can’t go wrong with a hotel that’s practically attached to the stadium! The Anthem Los Angeles Stadium District, Tapestry by Hilton is located next to the Intuit Dome on Century Boulevard and is just half a mile from the Los Angeles Stadium. The rooms are modest, but there is a rooftop bar to enjoy. As expected, though, this hotel is marking up its room rates by hundreds, but you’re paying for convenience. Reserve on the Hilton website to save a few bucks – and stay as long as you can. The shorter the stay, the higher the per-night cost.

Hyatt Regency LAX

The Hyatt Regency LAX is located 0.1 miles from Los Angeles International Airport. Not only does it offer a FREE Shuttle from the airport, but you can also arrange a Paid Shuttle to the Los Angeles Stadium. The accomodations have everything you need, and there is a Premium Lounge and Multiple Restaurants. The rooms here are a fraction of the cost of The Anthem, even during the prime FIFA World Cup match days. Best of all, you can grab a shuttle from the hotel to LAX, then take advantage of public transportation to get from the airport to the stadium via the LAX/Metro Transit Center Station, with a direct shuttle to SoFi Stadium for just $1.75.

The Best Hotels to Stay in Los Angeles for the FIFA World Cup if you don’t mind a Few More Metro Stops

If Los Angeles will be your home for both the FIFA World Cup and the days surrounding it, then spread your wings and fly to these central spots for a few more activities than soccer. The locations are still within walking distance of Metro Stations, so with a few more stops, you can take advantage of public transportation for just $2 to $4.

The Hollywood Grande

This luxury hotel opened in 2021 and offers mid-century inspired rooms, a gorgeous rooftop pool, and a rooftop bar called Bar Lis, which is one of my favorites for Jazz nights and Cocktails. The Hollywood Grande is close to Hollywood and Vine, a Metro Station you can use to get to the Los Angeles Stadium in about an hour and a half. The price for two nights here is the same as what you’d pay for one night at The Anthem, because it’s not marked up. Reserve with Expedia here or save even more money with the link below.

The Hollywood Roosevelt

Enjoy a dose of history just 300 feet from the Metro when you stay at The Hollywood Roosevelt, right on Hollywood Boulevard. While not the most glamorous of streets anymore, if it’s your first time in Los Angeles, you’ll probably want to check out Grauman’s Chinese Theater, see the Stars on the Walk of Fame, and hike to the Hollywood Sign. The nearly 100 year old Roosevelt Hotel gives you access to all these highlights, plus deluxe accomodations, and restaurants oozing old Hollywood charm. The Lobby Bar is home to Live Music some nights, along with mini-tini Happy Hour. The Tropicana Pool is absolutely iconic and it’s worth the upgrade to the Cabana Rooms if you can. Happy to see that this hotel is not marked up to match the FIFA World Cup Los Angeles dates.

Conrad Los Angeles

The Conrad Los Angeles is one of the closest luxury properties to the Los Angeles Stadium and has a gorgeous view of the Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Music Center. You’re steps from museums like The Broad and can take in a show at The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion while you’re in Downtown Los Angeles. The hotel includes a rooftop pool deck and a 16,000 square foot terrace, which is home to San Laurel by Chef José Andrés.

When traveling to the stadium for match day, you can take advantage of the Metro, which has a station just 4 minutes away on foot. It will take less than an hour and a half to arrive at the Los Angeles Stadium. By car it can be as little as 26 minutes without traffic.

Book here through Hilton directly or below for a lower price on Expedia.
