I’m always on the look out for the best “kid friendly” happy hour and the newest member of the Bacari franchise in Glendale is about to become your favorite after school activity.
Happy hour begins at 2:30 PM and features $8 cicchetti items (savory snacks) and $12 woodfire pizzas from Executive Chef Lior Hillel.
My absolute must-haves include the Stuffed Cremini Mushroom with basil-walnut pesto, micro bulls blood, and a five cheese blend, Bacari Fries with chef’s sunflower, roasted garlic, lemon, and smoked pepper sauce (sunny side egg two dollars but so worth it), and the Bacari Burger resting atop a telera roll in a worchester aioli (also worth adding the $2 egg). Remember all of these items are only $8!

Still hungry? Add in a Bacon & Double Cream Brie Pizza made with organic tomato sauce and fresh jalapeño for only $12
Now what are you drinking?!
How about a $10 speciality cocktail like the Brown Butter Sour made with brown butter infused whiskey, dry curaçao, egg whites, simple syrup, and lemon, or a $7 house wine or sangria? Beer drinkers can save even more with a $6 six point “the crisp” pilsner.
Are you really ready to go to town??
Partake in the GDL special which is 90 minutes of open bar! Keep it light with wines, beers, and sangrias for $25 or add in some liquor cocktails for just $5 more.
Just looking for a great lunch deal?
From 11:30 AM-2:30 PM you can enjoy a pizza or 2 cicchetti choices, dessert, and a wine or sangria for only $20! Best of all your choices include these two to-die for desserts; The Malabi which is a rosewater custard, shaved coconut, hibiscus flower syrup, and candied pistachio and the housemade date cake (also called the best cake you’ve ever had because it is!!!) made from Medjool dates, brown sugar caramel, and crispy bacon.

Not in it for the discounts?
Then settle in for dinner in their energetic indoor/outdoor bacari space and enjoy some of their decadently rich larger plates like the Lamb Belly with spinach mirepoix freekeh, oregano shallot dressing, and cranberry confetti ($14), and the Lobster + Crab Mac & Cheese with white truffle oil ($17). Also if you’re new to wine and feel intimidated by the oversized chalk beverage menus on each wall, you can relax because as extensive as this list might be, there’s only one of each varietal.

The outdoor patio makes this a great “kid-friendly” happy-hour spot and everything is priced just right to make it always feel like happy-hour. Brownie points for having a clear gender neutral bathroom as well.
