4 Once in a Lifetime Kind of Picnics in Los Angeles

It’s not officially summer yet but I think we’re all having those get outside and eat kind of feelings. Here are 4 once in a lifetime kind of picnics in Los Angeles and by the time you reach #1 you will know why.

4. Plant-Based Summertime BBQ

All you need is a park with a grill and this plant-based summertime BBQ kit from Veggie Grill. If you’re vegan and have always dreamed of grilling in the summer like the carnivores, or if you’re looking to keep it light for a meal, then I recommend trying this out. The kit includes 2 Impossible Burgers; 2 Field Roast Hot Dogs; BBQ Pulled Chicken; 4 brioche buns and 2 hot dog buns; 6 corn on the cobs; smoked potato salad; and lots of sauces and burger toppings ($65). It all comes in a box with a cute apron you can don as you cook in the great outdoors like your caveman ancestors – only much more herbivorous.

It will be available until Labor Day and can be purchased on their site. They prep it and you cook it in just minutes.

3. Amex Gold® Card Picnic in the Park: Ditroit

There’s nothing better than a nationwide picnic experience, and it’s all happening in 4 major cities from Boston to Los Angeles in the last weekend of June.

On June 27th, Mexico-City based chef Enrique Olvera is bringing DTLA’s Ditroit to La Cienega Park. The menu features an Heirloom Tomato Salad with cucumber and tarragon dressing; Cemita de Quesillo with avocado, black beans, chipotle and avocado salsa; and a Chocoflán for dessert.

The picnic also includes cookies from Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery, La Croix Sparkling Water, bubbles for blowing, a picnic blanket, and more! The cost is $45 a person, and you can reserve your time slot and picnic with a Resy or an American Express account.

2. Amex Gold® Card Picnic in the Park: Kismet

This meal by Chefs Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson is high on my list of must-eats because it’s a little bit of everything on the Kismet Rotisserie menu but done a bit differently. The picnic includes Chicken with Toasted Chili and Summer Squash; Little Gem Greek Salad with Olives, Feta, and Mint; and Carrot Salad and Couscous with Toasted Walnut and Arugula.

This picnic is happening Saturday, June 26th at La Cienega Park and you can reserve your slot here. The cost is $45 a person and also includes the goodies like Supergoop! PLAY sunscreen lotion, La Croix Sparkling Water, Blanket, and more.

1. The Bel Air Picnic

This is #1 on the once-in-a-lifetime picnics in Los Angeles list because it’s a once-in-a-lifetime price and an ultra-secret. Only at the Hotel Bel-Air can you picnic in front of Swan Lake and feel like you’ve escaped all of Los Angeles. The gourmet picnic for 2 is created by Wolfgang Puck and features Artisinal Cheeses; Charcuterie; Sandwiches; Desserts; Fruit; and Champagne.

Now for the price. Hotel guests can reserve for $350 which is just a little more than you might be spending in the restaurant but with total privacy. Non-hotel guests require an additional fee.

Book an experience you’ll never forget here.
