An eclectic brunch at Mélange in Arcadia

Mélange in Arcadia is the main restaurant at Le Méridien Pasadena Arcadia and specializes in Asian-European fusion. They are open all day, but it’s the weekend brunch that you’ll want to set your sights on. It takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. so it’s almost always time for #BrunchdayLA. The vibe in the early mornings is family-friendly, and as the day goes on you can expect a hipper crowd of late risers with nothing on their minds but the relaxation that comes from dining in a hotel – even if you’re not staying there. Check out what you should be ordering no matter the time of day.

Healthy Start

This section is all about the light bites like an Organic Acai Bowl ($12) and Avocado Toast on Sourdough with cherry tomatoes, lime, and chili flakes ($12).

Small Plates

Can a meal be called brunch without a raw bar? I think there’s nothing better than Oysters on the Half Shell ($20 for 6) or a nice Yellowtail Crudo ($18) when you’re savoring the weekend. You’ll find all that and more in Small Plates.

Brunch Favorites

This portion of the menu is really what gives the restaurant its name. The dishes are truly inventive and there’s something for everyone. While you can order a Traditional American Breakfast ($23), why not sample a Traditional Japanese Breakfast Bento instead ($28)? In it, you’ll find a warm Grilled Salmon, served with Rice, Miso Soup, Cold Tofu in Dashi, and assorted Japanese Pickles.

Favoring something a little sweeter? Choose between Yuzu Ricotta Pancakes ($22) or a decadent Banana French Toast Rolls with Nutella and warm syrup ($23). Lastly, there’s a twist on your traditional Chicken and Waffles made instead with crispy Chicken Karaage ($24).

What are you drinking?

The Brunch Cocktails offered include all the traditional favorites like Mimosas and Bloody Marys, but much like the rest of the menu I encourage you to choose the varietals. The House Libation section features inventive pairings like whiskey and apricot in The Last Whiskey Drink and the taste of matcha, honey, and Suntory in the light Show Pony. All cocktails are $15. If you’re not imbibing you’ll want a Cold Brew Coffee ($8) or Pressed Juice ($10) instead.

Sweet Tooth

End the meal on a sweet note with desserts like a Matcha Basque Cheesecake ($12) or a Gelato from the special Le Scoop by Le Meridien with flavors like Ginger and Dark Chocolate (3 for $12).

What about the Kids?

Your little one will feel extra special with their own entrée section that includes Kids Belgium Waffles ($15) and Mini Yogurt and Berries ($10). Each comes with a drink including Juice or even a Hot Chocolate.

Hotel Perks

Valet parking is FREE up to three hours, and if you visit Mélange in Arcadia before 10 a.m., there is FREE to-go coffee in the lobby too. While it’s probably meant just for hotel guests staying there, you can blame it on the global brunch you just had that made you feel like a tourist in your own city.

Make your reservations for Mélange on OpenTable.
