Satisfy your Sweet Tooth

Ice Cream for Groups

Smorgasburg LA at the Row in Downtown Los Angeles will be launching what has become a summer favorite, Ice Cream Alley, featuring 10 popups of some of the best ice cream LA has to offer. Most importantly it will continue every weekend until Labor Day so you have a chance to try them all!

Expect pop ups from Nancy’s Fancy Gelato, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, Sweet Rose Creamery, and more alongside resident sweeties like Wanderlust Creamery and Yellow Business.

Entry is FREE, Ice Cream costs money.

While tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream might be sold out for Sunday, you can bring a little “sprinkle” of it home with you! As of July 8th, Museum of Ice Cream’s very own branded ice cream has hit many Target stores across the country. Enjoy an entire pint of signature flavors like Pinata and Sprinkle Pool, as well as new additions like Vanillionaire and Nana Banana ($4.99).

Taste only the freshest ice cream the west side has to offer when you visit Small Batch in Mar Vista. It’s the the second location from Top Chef Season 14 Winner Brooke Williamson and husband/Co-Chef Nick Roberts after expanding from their Playa Provisions outpost. All the ingredients are picked up at the local farmers market and then masterly crafted by Playa Provisions’ pastry chef Lindsay Kirk.

Can’t enjoy the Sweet without the Savory

California Pizza Festival

Pizza is generally lauded as one of the easiest things to make, so armed with some Angelo & Franco Mozzarella, a can of Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, and some 5 Stagioni flour my son Navi and I attempted to make our own pizza by hand. Well it took almost as much time to clean the kitchen as it did for the dough to rise; and while our finished product might look edible…my husband Sage can attest that it was not.

LONG STORY SHORT, I’m leaving it to the professionals from now on and so should you!! On Saturday, July 28th from 12-8 PM the California Pizza Festival will host its first event in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Center Studios.

Notable stateside slicers include Vito Lacopelli from Prova Pizzeria, Fernando Darin from Ray’s & Stark Bar, and 12-time World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani of Tony’s Pizza Napoletana from San Francisco.

As this is an event for the whole family, there will be live music and pizza acrobatics for the kids; and beverages for sale from Golden Road Brewery and The Winebow Group for the adults 🙂
