It’s hot outside, but so is your social calendar. Here’s what to do in July in Los Angeles that includes a range of Summer Foodie Freebie Holidays, World Cup Fan Fests, and Outdoor Concerts. The post is separated by week, with the daily events at the very end.

July 1st – 5th
Thursday, July 2nd to Saturday, July 4th, kicks off our 250th year as a country with a July 4th Spectacular at The Hollywood Bowl! This multi-day concert features The Beach Boys and John Stamos! If you’re a child of the 90s, you might remember their many appearances on Full House. Kids under 12 can take advantage of half-off tickets when you book directly through the Bowl Website. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a 7:30 show.

Thursday, July 2nd, is also a very special collaborative dinner at Firstborn in Chinatown with Vinfolk. Reserve your 6-course Dinner via OpenTable.
July 2nd to 5th, the World Cup Fan Fest is at Hansen Dam in Sylmar, also home to the largest swimming pool in America. $25 Admission Tickets include a lakefront view of Round 32 Matches, a Beer Garden, Games, and more.
Friday, July 3rd, and every Friday in July, offers FREE Jazz on the plaza at LACMA beginning at 6 p.m. No reservation is needed, but arrive early to claim a seat or a spot for a picnic.
July 3rd to the 5th is Foodieland at The Rose Bowl Stadium! This is a festival to celebrate independently owned restaurants and businesses. Tickets are $12 to enter, and food is separate. Kids under 5 are FREE!
July 4th and 5th will also offer a FREE World Cup Watch Party at LA County’s Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson Park. Details here.
It’s IndepenDANCE Day when you spend July 4th at the annual Gloria Molina Summer Block Party in DTLA. The event is FREE and known as the biggest block party on the West Coast. More details can be found on their website. The party kicks off at 4 p.m.
If you’re in Long Beach and over 21, RED, WHITE & HALO at the Fairmont Breakers Long Beach offers free admission for a rooftop party that is sure to be one for the books. Doors open at 2 p.m.
For a more low-key July 4th, head to STK Steakhouse for a taste of Americana. Their Signature Burger, Mac n’ Cheese, and Apple Pie will cost just $17.76 for the holiday. An extra $2.50 gets you an American Brew, too. Reserve online.

July 6th – 12th
Monday, July 6th, is National Fried Chicken Day, so celebrate with a bucket of the best. The Top 8 Spots in Los Angeles for Fried Chicken await you. Keep your eyes on Hokkaido Fried Chicken in KTOWN as well. It’s getting dangerously good reviews. You’ll find them at Foodieland from July 3rd to the 5th :).
Nothing says summer like baseball, and the Dodgers are giving away some pretty sweet items this month to the first 40,000 fans. Visit on Monday, July 6th, for a Freddie Freeman “18th Inning Walk-Off” Bobblehead when they play the Colorado Rockies. Discounted Tickets for the Dodgers begin at $70. Thursday, July 9th, has special Fan Screenings of Moana at the El Capitan Theatre. This special run will go until August 2nd, but those early screenings are where you can get the photo ops and specialty merch. Toy Story 5 will also be in the cinema.
Friday, July 10th, is National French Fry Day, and historically, you can find offers at Fatburger and The Habit Burger Grill for a week leading up to the holiday.
Friday, July 10th, offers a chance to take FREE Dance Lessons at The Jerry Moss Plaza at The Music Center in Downtown Los Angeles. July 10th is Salsa from 7 to 11 p.m. More details here. RSVP online to guarantee your spot.
Friday, July 10th, and Saturday, July 11th, it’s the Beach Front World Cup Fan Zone in Venice Beach. Admission is just $10 and includes Match Viewings, Food Vendors, Drink Gardens, and Family-friendly Programming.
Also on July 10th and 11th, it’s the Music from the Films of Wes Anderson with the L.A. Phil at the Hollywood Bowl. Discounted tickets are hyperlinked and begin at just $24.
KCRW Summer Nights is on! It’s happening Saturday, July 11th, from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m. at Manuela. The concert is 100% FREE, and you can RSVP on their website. KCRW Summer Nights will also be at various other venues around the city as the summer continues.

July 13th – 19th
Tuesday, July 14th, is Bastille Day! Celebrate at Coucou, with locations in Venice, West Hollywood, and Manhattan Beach, beginning at 5 p.m. Historically, they have offered Drink and Dessert Specials as well as Giveaways.

Tuesday, July 14th, and Wednesday, July 15th, mark the official World Cup Fan Fest at the Pomona Fairplex. Expect DJ music, Games, and a chance to see 4 Matches on the big screen for just $21.10.

Thursday, July 16th, is one of seven performances of MUSE/IQUE Presents: Defiantly Joni at the Mark Taper Forum. This Joni Mitchell tribute is sung by a musical collective of artists and covers the outstanding impression she made during the 1960s and 70s, which continues today. July 20th – 26th
The Dodgers aren’t the only team in town! Enjoy the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Monday, July 20th, and take home a Throwback Clear Backpack when they play the Tigers.
Friday, July 24th, is L.A. Zoo After Dark: 80’s Night. This event gives you access to the L.A. Zoo after closing time, features an 80s cover band, and has a full bar. It is for 21 and over only, and tickets are $30 for non-members and $20 for members.

All Month Long
- Keep the kiddos busy with Raging Waters Water Park this summer. Tickets begin at $59 and are available every day until school starts.
- Do you miss the burgers from Father’s Office? Well Chef Sang Yoon as a new restaurant called Tiny’s Burger at South Coast Plaza. The signature dry-aged beef burger is topped with caramelized gochujang and ssamjang sauce.
- The tasting menu is slowly making a comeback, and Josephine in Silverlake has a 5-course menu that changes BI-WEEKLY for $125. Get there before it gets impossible to book.
